MODEL 2 COMPARISON SESSION
Backseat Productions Ann Arbor, MI
The following audio files are from a comparison session that featured the Model 2, AEA R84, Coles 4038, Shure KSM313 (Rear), and a Gefell MV692 with a RFT UM70 capsule (vocals only). Each microphone was positioned in the same location (directly above the snare) for the drum recording. For the other instruments, the microphones were set up in pairs. The preamp used for drum recording was a BAE 1066D (no eq). All other instruments were recorded using Skibbe (Flickinger) 736-5 500 Series preamps.
All files are unprocessed 24 bit 44.1 wave files. The converter used was a Universal Audio Apollo. All files are available for download.
NOTE: The low frequency "thump" in the acoustic guitar track is from the performer shaking the mic stand.
